How to Turn Pins into Customers and Profit with Pinterest

Pinterest is great social media tool that should be utilized in your campaign for a couple reasons. First, it is a simple and easy-to-use platform to share your content and save you time. And who couldn’t benefit from some extra time to spend on other tasks? Second, it reaches a targeted audience where you can direct and drive traffic to your website and to your other social platforms. So of course, you should be using Pinterest to increase your exposure and grow your customer list. Natalie Jill was a speaker at Social Media Marketing World 2016 who shared how Pinterest doubled her Youtube views, doubled Facebook traffic, and resulted in more customers.

Natalie is the Licensed Master Sports Nutritionist and functional fitness trainer behind Natalie Jill Fitness. Natalie has leveraged the power of social media to help hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. She created a globally recognized brand, with nearly two million social media followers and an online business that has generated over 7-figures. Although many see Natalie Jill as a fitness and nutrition expert, she is garnering attention for her ability to help others create, define, and monetize their brand online.

Here are Natalie Jill’s top 5 tips for using Pinterest:

Tip #1: Have a 5-10 board minimum and stay above the fold. This means when someone opens the page, “above the fold” is what you see first.

Tip #2: Cover images for each board topic should be loud and clear to portray what the board is about.

Tip #3: Name the board and be very specific. Make sure that when people search for specific items, they can easily find your board or your pins. Think about what you would search for on Google and that is how you should name your board.

Tip #4: Create “Pinfinity”. This means that you can direct traffic and control where you want it to go. Put your content on Pinterest and then edit URLs so the pins can take you to Youtube, Facebook, or your websites. This is how you can increase exposure and drive traffic across platforms.

Tip #5: Use visually appealing pins. You need to create pins that spark a curiosity and look interesting so people will click on it. She suggests long and rectangular shaped pins and creating picture collages.
